Anatoly Panasyukov
Ballet Master
Anatoly studied dance at the Bolshoi Ballet School in Moscow and graduated Cum Laude. He began working at the Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow from 1973, where he performed in all of the company’s repertoire and ballet movies and danced in the works of choreographic masters like Bejart, Rolan Petit, Pierre Lacot, Kasatskina, Vasiliev, Voskresenskaya, and Ryzhenio among others.
From 1976 to 1980, he performed with the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenco Theatre, where he rose to principal dancer in works such as “Swan Lake”, “Coppelia”, “Le Corsaire”, “Doctor Aybolt”, “Snow Maiden”, “Francisca Da Ramini”, “Don Quixote”, “Stepan Rasin”, “Emerald”, and “Golden Key”.
In 1980, Anatoly joined the Moscow Ballet Theatre of Classical Dance where he assumed the role of principal dancer. From 1990 to 1994, he became a dance teacher and eventually, Assistant Ballet Master.
Anatoly came to the Philippines in 1995 as Philippine Ballet Theatre’s resident Ballet Master, a position he holds to this day. With Artistic Director Ronilo Jaynario, Anatoly has re-staged the classics such as “Swan Lake”, “Esmeralda”, “La Bayadere”, “Don Quixote”, “Coppelia”, “Le Corsaire” and “The Nutcracker” to mention a few.
Anatoly’s memorable characterizations are as Lorenzo in “Don Quixote”, the Rajah in “La Bayadere”, Goro the marriage broker in “Madame Butterfly”, and the Stepmother in “Cinderella”. His portrayal of the Angel of Death in “Darangen ni Bantugen” has been described by Philippine Star’s Rosalinda Orosa as “superb”, “grand and magisterial” where he “magnificently aroused fear and dread”.
Anatoly continues to train and mentor PBT’s company members, apprentices and promising dancers, believing very much in the artistic talents of Filipinos. He has adopted the Philippines as his home.
Ronilo Jaynario
Artistic Director
Ron began his formal dance training at the age of thirteen in the Philippine High School for the Arts. With hard work and dedication to his craft, he graduated as the Most Outstanding Artist in Dance. He joined the Lab. Projekt. and thereafter, became a member of the U.P. Dance Company. He participated in the Bay Area Dance Series, Wudao Dance Festival, Baguio Arts festival and many other dance festivals around the globe.
In 1995, he joined Philippine Ballet Theatre to further hone his dancing. As a PBT company dancer, he was described by critics to be “an Artist with innate talents”, a “quick rising Noble Danseur”, “a bantam figure with an incredible ability and capacity in dance”, as well as an “intense, enigmatic and suave dancer”. He stayed and danced with the company for 15 years.
In 2009, he was appointed as the Artistic Director of PBT and started choreographing his own works for the company, such as Beatles Revisited, OPM, Serye at Sayaw, and his versions of the classics such as Carmen, La Fille Mal Gardee, Coppelia, and Le Corsaire.
As the company’s youngest Artistic Director, he continues to motivate the company to achieve artistic excellence in dance and envisions to help bring the company to greater heights.
MARK JOSEPH PINEDA
Associate artistic Director
Mark, a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education and a licensed high school teacher, began his training under the guidance of Anatoly Panasyukov at age 15. Eventually becoming a PBT scholar. He also trained under Ronilo Jaynario, Gener Caringal, Enrico Labayen, Maiqui Mañosa, Herbert Alvarez, Carlos Garcia, American Repertory Ballet director Graham Lustig and Prima Ballerina Maniya Barredo. He was promoted to company member in 2004. He was also a finalist in the NAMCYA Senior Ballet Division. Mark has toured with the company locally and international (China, 2008), (Malaysia, 2015) and (USA, 2019). In 2011, Mark toured Italy with the Foundation for Lay Education on Heart Disease (FLEHD), where he was invited to perform in the musical drama “How To Remain Young At Heart”.
He danced with the company for 17 years where he performed significant roles in its regular season productions.
After he retired in 2020, Mark accepted the role of Associate Artistic Director and Company Manager that was offered to him by PBT.
Mark is also an examiner of the Philippine Classical Ballet Syllabus Inc. and the Artistic Director of SAYAW Foundation Las Piñas Ballet School and SAYAW Foundation Don Bosco Tondo Ballet School.
